So you are lucky enough to have found yourself in Puerto Rico on vacation. If you are well traveled then you had probably done some research before arriving on the Island. You know that there is an abundance of places to relax, eat, and experience. But if you haven’t taken the proactive steps towards making the most of your time on La Isla del Encanto, well then these series of posts will help to ensure you are making the most out of your time in Puerto Rico.

For starters, most people don’t take advantage of all Puerto Rico has to offer. Everything about traveling to and around Puerto Rico is easy. There is no currency exchange and Puerto Rico operates under American Law. The rules of the road follow that of America too. Plus, it’s safe! Puerto Ricans are American Citizens and you will find throughout your travels just how relaxed and family oriented people are there.

The best way to see the Island is to rent a car.  It’s a very easy process, and almost all American corporate car rental chains exist at the airports, and then some smaller Island Companies which actually offer better pricing, availability, and service. What’s the best and most comfortable way to travel around the Island? A Jeep of course! We recommend using Island Jeep Rental or Coqui Car Rental if you fly into San Juan through Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan.

Make sure you book in advance. Uber has hit the Island, but it’s not as widely used and you will find yourself limited without a set of wheels.

So there you are, settling into the island vibes, top off to the jeep, the sun shining on your face, and the warm breezes blowing back your hair. You are ready to hit the road, but where will you go first?

Will you head south to the quaint little village of La Parguera where you can rent a motorboat and dock in the mangroves? Wait for the sunset, and your mind will be blown by the beautiful bioluminescent bays. Or maybe you want to check out some of the best surf in the Caribbean at the Western Beaches of Rincon, Aguadilla, and Isabela. But it would be pretty amazing to take in the epic mountain views the middle of the Island has to offer. You could visit a coffee plantation, explore some natural caves, or go hiking up a waterfall? Maybe you decide to go off-roading and explore the pure natural beauty of the Eastern Islands of Vieques and Culebra?

How about you give it all a go! Puerto Rico is filled with adventure, and there is something for everyone. Stick with us, and we will help you build your itinerary.
